Section 1

Start on the floor you are cleaning

Supplies are distributed throughout the building. Return tools to their home when you finish.

Usable products, paper supplies, cloths, and refills for the Second Floor live here.

First Floor cleaning products and the rag-sorting system are stored across these backstage shelves.

Basement

Storage Room D

This is the main home for bulk supplies. Return inventory to its labeled area after replenishing each floor.

Know where the dispenser keys are

Return keys to the same hook immediately after use.

Upright vacuum

Stored between the copier and paper cutter. Return it here and keep the walkway clear.

The spray mop belongs on the Second Floor.

Upstairs sinks are not deep enough for a regular mop bucket. Use the spray mop and red washable pads.

Childcare-area storage stays locked

Two First Floor storage areas contain products in spaces children may use.

Lock both areas every time.

Never leave cleaning products accessible to children, even briefly.

Close and lock it immediately after every use.

Laundry area

Washer/dryer doors

Lock the outer doors whenever the laundry area is not actively being used.

Section 3

Laundry is a shared system

Teachers and cleaners use the same all-in-one washer/dryer.

Put away cleaning items or move other items to the holding area.

2Use the wall guide

Follow posted instructions.

3Check the hose

Point it securely into the slop sink.

4Start the load

You may leave before it finishes.

5Retrieve it

Check the machine and holding area next shift.

All-in-one machine

Washing and drying happen in the same unit.

Check before every load

The hose must face into the slop sink or water can empty onto the floor.

This is temporary storage. Return finished cloths and pads to their proper homes.

Section 4

Keep cleaning cloths separated

Colors prevent food-service cloths from being washed with cloths used for toilets or bodily fluids.

Blue

General cleaning: tables, counters, and routine surfaces.

Green

Food-service areas and food-related cleaning only.

Gray

Toilets, bodily fluids, and high-contamination cleaning.

The color guide is displayed backstage near the supplies.

Sort before washing

Put used cloths in the matching crate so each color is washed separately.

Section 5

Use the right disposal point

Dirty mop water has only two approved disposal locations.

There are two yellow mop buckets.

First: backstage. Basement: storage room inside the men’s room.

Never dump mop water into any kitchen sink.Use a slop sink every time.
